Greek Frappe & Loukoumades
Greek frappe and loukoumades are a classic dessert of golden brown, fried donut, sweetened with a touch of honey favorite all over Greece.

- 2 tsp NESCAFÉ® Classic Instant coffee
- 2 tsp sugar
- Ice cubes
- water or milk per preference
For Loukoumades
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 0.5 oz active dry yeast
- 3 ¼ cup flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- oil for frying
For the syrup
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup water
- cinnamon for sprinkling
In a blender add 15ml water 2 tsp NESCAFÉ and 1 tsp sugar. Blend well for a nice creamy foam.
Add a few ice cubes into a glass and pour into the NESCAFÉ Frappé. If you prefer with milk you can add 30ml chilled milk.
To make the dough add flour, sugar, olive oil and the water along with the dissolved yeast to blender with dough hook and whisk at high speed until you get a smooth texture. Cover and leave the dough aside to let it rice for 1 hour.
Prepare the syrup by mixing the ingredients into a pot over medium high heat and bring it to boiling then reduce the temperature to medium low and let it cook until syrup is formed.
Over a medium heat place a frying pan with oil to fry the loukoumades.
Form balls from the dough mixture and fry in the pan. Wet your hands to avoid sticking dough.
Make sure you fry the ball from all sides until golden brown. Then transfer them to a paper paper to drain.
Serve with sprinkled with cinnamon over and drizzle honey syrup.
