Wine Kebab with Mashed Potatoes

This is an old Bulgarian Recipe for very tender meat cooked in wine sauce.

Ingredients

  • 700 g pork
  • 3 onions
  • 5 tbsp tomatoes
  • 1 cup red wine
  • salt
  • flour
  • paprika
  • black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 350 ml water
  • parsley

Mashed Potatoes

  • 6 potatoes
  • 150 ml milk
  • 3⅓ tbsp butter
  • salt
  • black pepper

Instructions

  • Saute the meat after cutting it into bites.
  • Cut the onion into crescents, saute them about 20 min.
  • Pour in the wine, spices and water.
  • Boil until ready and if needed, thicken with flour.
  • Boil the potatoes very well.
  • Mash them, add the milk, butter, salt and black pepper.
  • You can add rice too but we like it like this at my house.
