Greek Horiatiki Salad
Greek Horiatiki Salad is a traditional authentic Greek salad, healthy and delicious prepared from Kalamata olives, cucumber, tomatoes, onion, and feta cheese. Kalamata olives are large, dark purple olives with a smooth, meaty texture, named after the city of Kalamata in the southern Peloponnese, Greece.
Greek Horiatiki Salad
A traditional Greek salad recipe (Horiatiki) made with tomato, cucumber, green pepper, red onion, Kalamata olives and feta cheese.
Ingredients
- 3 tomatoes
- 1 (medium) cucumber
- black olives
- 1 onion
- a chunk of feta
- extra virgin olive oil
- red wine vinegar
- oregano
- salt
Instructions
- Cut everything in slices - tomato, onion, cucumber. Peel cucumber if not organic.
- Add to a bowl - first place cucumber and tomatoes then place the sliced onion on top.
- Add the olives and season with salt, olive oil and vinegar.
- Place a feta cheese piece and then sprinkle with oregano.
